Scott Firefighter Stairclimb
At 788 feet of vertical elevation, the Columbia Center in downtown Seattle stands as the second tallest building west of the Mississippi. It takes 69 floors, or 1,311 steps, to reach the highly acclaimed observation deck with breathtaking views of the entire Puget Sound region. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Big Climb event raises money through individual and team fundraising, sponsorship and entry fees which is then invested in its mission to fund blood cancer research and support services for patients.
MDA Fill the Boot
For more than 60 years the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) have stood on the front lines for MDA, working together to free individuals — and the families who love them — from the harm of muscular dystrophy, ALS and related muscle-debilitating diseases that take away physical strength, independence and life.
IAFF support for MDA began in 1954 when the organization committed by proclamation to support MDA until a cure is found, and the organization’s unwavering commitment to MDA has remained strong to this day. As MDA’s largest national partner, the IAFF has raised more than $585.5 million to help kids and adults with muscle-debilitating diseases live the life they’ve always imagined and experience the world without any limits.
Local 3235 has partnered with the MDA for several years, and with your help has raised several thousand dollars along the way.

Tips for Firefighters
Partnering with Lake Stevens Ixtapa Restaurant since 2001, IAFF 3235 raises extra tips one night a year to help give gifts to local under-privileged children in Lake Stevens. One hundred percent of the donations raised by the Lake Stevens Professional Firefighters goes right back into the Lake Stevens community.
This event happens in early December of each year.
